Teacher Mentor

I have had the meaningful opportunity to mentor a first-year teacher, guiding her as she navigates the challenges that all new educators face. I value being a steady source of support through classroom visits, informal observations, and co-planning sessions, helping her build confidence and refine instructional practices. As a mentor, I also connect her to resources and systems beyond my own expertise—particularly during district curriculum shifts—by attending professional development sessions alongside her so I can better support implementation and problem-solving throughout the year. Serving in this role has reinforced how much I enjoy developing others and has affirmed my desire to continue mentoring and building teacher capacity on a larger scale.

Opportunities for further growth and development

I have been fortunate to attend a variety of conferences and turnkey key resources alongside both my administration and colleagues. In Summer 2025, I traveled to San Antonio, Texas with members of my team to attend the ISTE Conference, where we explored innovative and emerging educational technology tools that have the potential to positively impact our school community. In addition, I have participated in local conferences focused on school leadership, suspension reform and disciplinary history, Restorative Justice practices, and Leader in Me. These experiences have strengthened my professional knowledge and allowed me to bring valuable insights and strategies back to support our school’s continued growth.
